Betty Crocker No Bake Cheese Cake Mix- review

Disclaimer: I did not get paid or asked to do this review. And for that matter, this isn't a professional review at all... just jobless today and happy too that the cake from a premix pack came out well contrary to what I expected.

Been a long time since I baked a cheese cake and DH suggested back in August to make one. I jotted down all the ingredients in my shopping list and off I marched to Nuts and Spices. My eyes popped out seeing the price tag. Was it all so costly here? The ingredients alone would cost me 1000 bucks. Phew!!!! I wasn't sure if I should spend that much to put on weight. My hubby could definitely afford to put on some more weight but NOT me!!!! And chances are he will just have one slice and the rest will be polished off by me n me alone....no I don't feel guilty at all when I eat....I just open the fridge.... sit on the floor with the fridge open and just INDULGE. So I marched back home feeling all happy that I expended calories walking most of the way and saying no to more than a 1000 calories and saved money by using public transport the rest of the way and saying no to buying something worth more than 1000 rs.
And then a trip to Big Bazaar happened in December and what do I find there?

This....and again my eyes popped out. Just 270 rs. Really???? Anyway I bought and came home and after 3 weeks I made it today. The only extra stuff I needed was 75 gm butter and 350ml milk and that was there in my fridge. I made it and after 2 hours served it....ooolala....it was really good. Ok lemme tell u Iam someone who hate ready mixes for cakes. I love to do it from scratch. But this was good and money well spent. My son inhaled it (ofcourse his parents too)

Since this is a new product and being someone who does make cheese cake from scratch ( both baked and no bake versions) I thought I will key in what I felt. Not the exact taste of how u make it from scratch but this is real good too and WELL WORTH the money. So if u r planning a dinner party, go for this...easy on ur pocket n sure way to impress the guests. And did I tell u its no bake....n whipping it up is oh so easy.....jus follow the instructions on the carton.... and no loose crumbs from the base, firm and smooth cake and a mix of sweet and tangy topping. Just perfect

and the calories.....uhhh...ummnnn......whatever!!!!!!

  1. I'm a big fan of Betty Crocker's mixes. Unlike you, I reach out for a mix whenever my kids or my colleagues ask for a cake. About the cheesecake...mmmm...and I totally agree with you about the calories ;-)

    2. but for some reason my guilt is less when i make from a premix coz mentally i feel its just some powder and i mixed milk to it unlike when i really take cream cheese out of the tub (read the calories) and start beating it.... :)
